About us

Practical and playful since 2007

Neuroaffirming in everything we do.

Our large, experienced team are specialists in paediatrics, with a passion for high-quality, neuroaffirming therapy for children and their families. We’re known for our practical approach, and for working closely with parents and teachers to achieve shared goals.

Our story

Practical therapy, grown from community

Amanda MacLean, Paediatric Occupational Therapist, started Leapfrog Therapy in 2007 as a small, purely community-based service, visiting children at home, kinder and school. Since then we’ve grown into a team across two clinics, in Hunters Hill (Sydney) and Balwyn North (Melbourne), with telehealth for families further away.

Our clinics are filled with practical, accessible therapy items that families can easily replicate at home.

Our practice has grown and changed as our understanding has grown. We’re proudly neuroaffirming: we celebrate how each child thinks, plays and communicates, and we work with their strengths rather than trying to change who they are. Some of our therapists are neurodivergent themselves, so they know first-hand how much it matters to feel accepted just as you are.

We’re dedicated to creating systemic change, not just change in the therapy room. That’s why we started Leapfrog Learning, our partner organisation, which trains educators and community groups to build environments where every child is understood and supported.

We also work closely with universities in Melbourne and Sydney, training student therapists and welcoming new graduates through our graduate program. Our team and clients love the energy and creativity they bring!

Meet our team

We’re a team of specialist paediatric therapists across Sydney and Melbourne who genuinely love what we do. We bring curiosity, creativity and plenty of fun to every session, and we’ll happily crawl through a tunnel or build a pillow fort if it helps your child feel at ease. Behind the play is a close-knit team who share ideas, learn from each other and keep our practice evidence based.
