Working together with your child’s educators
Children spend a big part of their week at school, preschool or daycare. Seeing them there, and working with their teachers, helps strategies carry into every part of their day.
Therapy at school, preschool or daycare
As well as our clinics, our OTs and Speech Therapists can see your child at their school, preschool, kindergarten or daycare, within our catchment areas in Sydney and Melbourne. Contact the office to check if your child’s setting is eligible.
How we work with educators
- Observations in the classroom and playground
- Teacher input for assessments, such as questionnaires
- Practical strategies teachers can use straight away
- Regular communication, so everyone is on the same page
- With your permission, teachers can be given access to your child’s portal, so they can easily read notes from our school visits
A few schools have policies that prevent therapists from working onsite. When that happens, we offer clinic or home sessions and work with the school on a plan, so your child doesn’t miss out on strategies.
Training for your whole team
We’ve been training teachers through practical, hands-on workshops for over 20 years. Today that work happens through Leapfrog Learning, which runs neuroaffirming professional development for early learning, schools, universities and community settings.
Most workshops run for 60 to 90 minutes and can be tailored to your setting.
