Starting therapy, step by step
No referral is needed. Here’s what to expect, how funding works, and answers to the questions families ask us most.

How it works
- 1
Register
Fill in our online registration form for OT or speech therapy.
- 2
We talk with you first
We start with a parent/carer session to learn about your child’s background, strengths and needs, and what matters most to your family.
- 3
Assessment
Using what you’ve shared, we choose the best approach for your child’s assessment, often play-based, with input from their teachers too.
- 4
Therapy
Together we set functional goals, and we share strategies for home and school.
Fees and funding
We believe families deserve clear, upfront information about the cost of therapy: no hidden fees, no surprises. If you have questions about billing or funding, our admin team is here to help.
NDIS
We provide speech and occupational therapy to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS clients.
How to apply for the NDIS →Medicare
We’re a registered provider for Chronic Condition Management plans and M10 plans (speech sound disorders, stuttering or cleft palate), arranged through your GP. Some therapists can also provide services under Mental Health Care Plans.
Private health
We’re registered with private health funds across Australia. Let us know your fund and we’ll make sure the right provider registration is in place.

You may notice our fees are a little above the NDIS price limit for therapy. That limit ($193.99 an hour) was set in 2019 and hasn’t changed since, while the cost of running a therapy practice has kept climbing.
Rather than cut corners, we’ve chosen to keep investing in the things that make therapy work for your child: experienced therapists who stay with us, regular training and supervision, well-equipped clinic spaces, and time to plan and keep in touch with you and your child’s educators.
Every family’s situation is different, so please talk to us. We’re always happy to help you make the most of your funding, for example by mixing therapist sessions with Allied Health Assistant sessions.

Online therapy
Telehealth lets us “visit” your child at home or school using video and online resources. Research shows it can be as effective as face-to-face therapy, so it’s a great option for families in regional areas, expat families overseas, or parents who want advice without their child present.
Amanda set up our telehealth service after living in Vietnam and seeing how hard it was for expat families to access therapy.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to book an assessment. If you’d like to claim a Medicare rebate, you’ll need a referral from your GP.
Does my child need an assessment, or can they start therapy?
Assessments are a key part of therapy. They help us identify areas of need and set a baseline to track progress. They may include observation, parent and teacher discussion and fun, play-based activities. Most children don’t realise they’re being assessed!
Already had an assessment elsewhere? If your child was assessed at another clinic in the last 6 months and you have the written report, there’s no need to repeat it. Instead, we’ll do a relaxed, informal assessment in your first session. This first session is charged at the assessment rate of $330, which gives your therapist time to read and analyse the report beforehand and set new goals with you afterwards.
My school might not let you visit. Has this happened before?
Most schools value our input, and many recommend us in the first place. A few have policies preventing therapists on site. In those cases we offer clinic or home sessions and work with the school on a plan.
How do I access the client portal?
Your portal is created automatically when you register for services, and the link is emailed to the address we have on file. When you open that first link, you’ll be asked to create your own password. Contact us if you need the email resent.
Is the portal secure?
Yes. Our portal uses two-factor authentication (2FA), so as well as your password, a new access code is emailed to you each time you log in. It’s built to meet Australian healthcare privacy and security standards for storing health information.
Nobody is added without your consent, anyone you add has view-only access and needs their own code, and reports are password protected.
